 From the Fishertown

From the FishertownThe museum will open with 'From the Fishertown' looking at life in the fishertown during the nineteenth century and the conditions that drove people to leave around the turn of the twentieth century.

The exhibition is based on the detailed and moving 1905 photographs taken by Willie John Smith and follows family histories from the Fishertown, looking at the lives of the emigrants and what happened to their descendents.

In a complementary exhibition there are panels telling how Cromarty relates to the sea now and a dvd showing interviews with Cromarty residents relating their family associations with the Fishertown and the sea.  legal teamEast Church byIain Sarjeant
