Hugh Miller's Cottage and Miller HouseNext door to the Courthouse, an excellent museum devoted to Hugh Miller, writer, stonemason, geologist, and churchman.
Cromarty Links, the Emigration Stone and the Hugh Miller TrailCromarty Links is a lovely area of public open space by the sea. The Emigration Stone was put up there by The Cromarty Arts Trust to commemorate Hugh Miller’s bi-centenary and the many emigrant ships that sailed from Cromarty to the New World. The Hugh Miller Trailstarts from the Links and identifies several key sites associated with Miller, including Cromarty Bay, where Miller discovered the Old Red Sandstone Devonian fossil fish species, some of which bear his name; Eathie Beach, the Jurassic and Devonian fossil beds where he began geologising.
Cromarty East ChurchJust a few doors down from the Courthouse, the town's old parish church is a classic example of an old Presbyterian Kirk, centred on its pulpit with box pews and lofts still in place. It dates mainly from the 16th - 18th centuries. The churchyard is interesting too. Open all year during daylight hours.
Cromarty FerryOne of Britain's smallest car ferries, the Cromarty Rose carries 2 cars and up to 50 people across the Firth to Nigg every half hour throughout the summer.
Cromarty HarbourUnusually on this coast, our 18th c. harbour is accessible at all stages of the tide. There are moorings for yachts and some facilities. The harbour is also the base for the Cromarty Boat Club
