The Museum is housed in the old Cromarty-shire administrative building and still retains the records of the county.
We also have many original documents donated by people of the town including letters, brochures, postcards. guidebooks, catalogues and other material.
Cromarty was also a town of military and naval importance from well before the start of the C20, and much of our collection reflects that.
The Museum retains facsimiles of documents of importance to the town - deeds, sasines, charters and so on.
